South America
Why ski in South America?
The reasons that lead us to South America are numerous. You can ski in the wonderful scenery of the mountains Andes, a long tongue of land between Chile and Argentina, leading from the North to the South for about 2000 kilometres until the end of the world!
From June to October you can find beautiful winter snow with top ski stations (slopes from 30 to 110 kilometres), ultra-modern ski-lifts, slopes with breath-taking height differences between 800 and 1200 metres, incredible freeriding with powder snow and all this between 3760 and 2000 metres above sea level.
In South America there are ski stations of every level, which are in no way inferior to our European skiing stations, with their stunning, extraordinary and unique sceneries. The geographic position south of the equator favours an ideal climate: you can have beautiful sunshine for long periods of the year, but at the same time there are atmospheric disturbances between the two oceans that create heavy snowfalls of other times (6 metres on average per season)!
Already in the sixties the development of winter sports played a very important role in South America, if we remember the World Cup in Portillo, a famous Chilean skiing location, in 1966.
At present almost all the most important national teams spend long training periods at these locations.
After different surveys and direct contact with the people in charge of these stations, Ski Training decided to offer packages for stays at these destinations accompanied by our ski instructors, federal trainers and local guides.
The interesting tourist proposal we received from the Argentinean and Chilean Andes, which is still disregarded by many passionate Italian skiers, encouraged us to offer really interesting packages. These packages include: 14 days of stay, return plane ticket, departure from the main Italian airports, hotel with full board, unlimited ski pass, reserved slope, selected training sessions.
