National Championships season soon over

After the end of the World Cup season for nearly all FIS disciplines, it was a busy time for national championships around the world. Over the past few weeks several national titles were awarded in the different FIS disciplines. In Alpine skiing, the French competed in Les Menuires from 17th-26th March while the Austrian nationals were staged in Innerkrems at the same time. The Swiss raced in Stoss, Hoch Ybrig, Zinal and Veysonnaz whilst the Canadians were competing at the 1988 Olympic resort of Naskiska and the Italians in Falcade. The technical races of the German national champs were held in Todtnau/Feldberg (GER) and the speed competitions in St. Moritz (SUI). Svindal & co were fighting in Narvik, Norway for the national titles, the US team in Lake Placid, the Slovenians in Kope, the Czech in Splynderuv Mlyn and the British in Meribel (FRA). The Spanish and Bulgarian national champs are carried out this week in Candanchu (ESP) and Banko (BUL), respectively. The Alpine national championship season will continue for a couple more weeks according to the FIS calendar with the last competitions taking place in Bjoerkliden (SWE) on 12th-18th April and in Pyhä (FIN) on 19th-22th April.

The national champs period in Cross-Country concluded in France with a great Nordic and Biathlon final in the Jura region (SUI) over the Easter weekend. In Freestyle, the last national titles will be awarded on the Engstligenalp in Switzerland over the upcoming weekend and in Norefjell, Norway, the weekend after. The Snowboarders are finishing their season with the Swiss national championships taking place in Sils (16th-18th April) and the Bulgarian champs in Bansko (10th-11th April).
